Scholarships are open to both community members and students.

An enormous thank you to the Python Software Foundation and NumFOCUS for sponsoring financial aid.
SciPy 2019 Applications
Applications will be judged both on merit as well as need. Although all attendees are eligible for scholarships, we encourage applicants to consider their level of need before applying, such as whether their institution is covering some or all of their travel costs. As funds are limited, our goal is to bring together as many SciPy community members as possible. If only partial scholarship is required, please indicate this in the application and we may be able to accommodate additional applicants due to such reasonable requests.

The Financial Aid Committee welcomes international applicants. You will be responsible for your own visa application, but the conference is happy to provide any letters of support or additional documentation you may need. We will work with you to secure your hotel and flights, as needed. The conference will ensure that you are not financially impacted in any way for travel expenses if you are unable to obtain a visa and attend the conference.

The application deadline is March 19, 2019. Recipients will be notified on April 2nd, 2019.

Sprint Leader Financial Aid

The SciPy 2019 Sprint and Financial Aid committees would like like to encourage more Scientific Python leaders to lead sprints at the conference and grow our foundations and the contributor base! We are offering "Sprint Leader Financial Aid", which will cover two nights of lodging for sprint leaders who can offer their knowledge of a package central to our community and pedagogical skills to help make sprints more accessible and grow the contributor pool.
The application deadline is May 1, 2019.
