Quantum Software Engineer JD:
IBM Research is looking to hire excellent candidates to contribute to its quantum computing theory and software efforts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of scientific software development, and good knowledge of numerical methods and linear algebra. In this role, the candidate is expected to quickly prototype ideas, enforce good software engineering practices, and improve code performance through detailed profiling and stress testing. The candidate must be adept at working in an interdisciplinary team of physicists and computer scientists.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building tools and algorithms for optimizing and simulating quantum computers, and contributing to the Quantum Information Science Kit (Qiskit). IBM builds the full stack of quantum applications, circuit-level interfaces, pulse-level interfaces and hardware. You will have the chance to closely work with an expert team of software and hardware researchers to improve the performance of first generation quantum computing systems.
