yt is a NumFocus sponsored open source python library designed for scientific analysis and visualization of volumetric data from the physical sciences. Our team is developing a new domain context system to classify the types of analysis and visualization integral to different science domains to expand yt's capabilities across domains. This project intends to understand data assumptions physical science domains make, while improving the yt interface accommodate models and analysis that are used across domains. This project is also a case study on developing a domain specific toolkit and broadening its functionality across domains. This project is in progress.
